@Msekate
Sekate Mubarak is a Ugandan-born Christian gospel artist, educator, and community development advocate who has been active in the music industry since 2009. Raised in Kampala and Jinja, he is known for his contemporary praise and worship songs that blend genres like soul and Afrobeat. His music—sung in Luganda, Swahili, and English—aims to spread the gospel and strengthen faith in God. Notable tracks include “Eloi,” “Simuvako,” “Nina Omukwano,” “Tondekangawo,” and “Umbrella.” Sekate’s musical style has drawn comparisons to Pastor Wasswa Kiyinji, a respected figure in Ugandan gospel music, though he maintains a distinctive approach rooted in honoring true gospel doctrine and communicating the message of salvation through song. Beyond music, Sekate is a committed educator, having taught in schools across Kampala and Wakiso since 2015. He actively integrates his values into education, championing ethics, personal development, and critical thinking. He is also a member of the Effective Altruism community and is working on introducing EA-aligned thinking into over 100 high schools through clubs and fellowships aimed at empowering both teachers and students to make a meaningful impact. His passion for social change led him to found the Kalambi Community Outreach Project (KACOP) in 2010 to address grassroots community challenges. In 2017, he launched Change Africa for Good (CAFG), a nonprofit that partners with local organizations to build impactful volunteer programs and sustainable solutions across East Africa. Through music, education, and grassroots initiatives, Sekate Mubarak continues to inspire lives and nurture transformative change across Uganda and beyond
